Sand Ceremony Complete Kit - Square bottle

A sand ceremony is a symbolic ritual often performed during weddings or other celebrations. It involves pouring sand from separate containers into a single vessel, representing the merging of two lives or families into one. The blending of the sand symbolises the unity and commitment between the individuals involved.  It's your opportunity to personalise your ceremony and create a keepsake.

In this kit you will receive:

• A 'Square blending bottle' with a cork stopper
• The number of chosen 'individual bottles'
• Your choice of coloured Sand
• Funnel

• Main Blending Bottle

Square glass bottle with cork stopper 500ml (20cm tall, 7.8cmx78cm) 

• Individual Bottles - Choose from 250ml or 125ml depending on your numbers.

Fewer than 3 people I suggest the larger 250ml bottles, but this is down to personal preference and desired visual outcome.

- Square glass bottle with cork lid 250ml (14.5cm tall). 300g (3 pouches) of coloured sand provided per bottle.

- Square glass bottle with cork lid 125ml (12cm tall). 200g (2 pouches) of coloured sand provided for up to 6 people per bottle.  For 7 people plus only 1 x 100g pouch of sand is provided per person, and this is reflected in the cost.

• Sand

Please choose your colour per person.  Sand varies from 0.2 to 0.5mm grains and provided in 100g airtight sachets. 

For the 125ml bottles 200g of sand is provided per bottle for up to 6 people, and 100g of sand for 7 people +, (you don't need the extra and this is reflective in the costings).

For the 250ml bottle and 300g per colour is provided.

• Funnel

A plastic white/clear funnel will be included, along with a wooden stick should you need to clear any blockages (can be caused by moisture and/or static).

Understanding Sand Density

Not all sands are created equal. Our coloured sands generally come in two different grain sizes 0.2mm (fine) and 0.5mm (medium), some are in between.

Because finer grains are ground more, 100g of 0.2mm sand will take up more space than 100g of 0.5mm sand. In other words, you’ll receive the same weight, but the volume will vary depending on the texture you choose. See the example picture in the listing.

0.2mm (fine) – smooth, silky texture, sits higher in the jar

0.5mm (medium) – slightly coarser, fills less space for the same weight

To fill the square bottle takes approximately 600g of 0.2 sand and 800g of 0.5 sand.  So if you have a mix of densities, it will be in between that.

Both blend beautifully and are perfect for symbolic ceremonies.

I do not manufacture the sand; it is sourced from various locations across Europe and the UK.  Please be aware that this sand is for decorative purposes only and not designed as play stand for children. There have been various dyes used to create the variety of colours I offer so be careful as they may stain clothing.

Personalisation

There is an option to personalise the bottle(s), please choose this option should you wish this.  There is an additional fee for personalisation which covers materials and time.

Vinyl is the most common as stands out more against the sand.  Etched is more subtle and delicate.

A mock-up of your design is sent prior to dispatch for approval.

There is no 'right or wrong' way to complete a sand ceremony, some people prefer a full bottle, some want it only halfway. There is also a little bit of guess work, as to how much sand you will actually need as mentioned above. Try not to overthink it and remember the symbolism around it.

For the perfect sand ceremony experience, I suggest not transferring the sand from the airtight bags to the individual glass bottles until the day of your ceremony, air moisture can affect sand texture and its performance. 

Please do check your kit thoroughly when you receive it.  I know these kits may not be used for several months after purchase.  Unfortunately, any claims of damage months after storage cannot be rectified. 

As with all glass products small air bubbles and minor imperfection may appear but will not distract from the bottles once filled.

Delivery -

I am UK based and I aim to ship non-personalised orders within 2 working days of receiving the order, and personalised orders within a week - depending on the time of year, demand, and how quickly you approve the mock-up stages.

It will be shipped with a tracking number, usually with Royal Mail 48hrs tracking. Please do reach out if needed urgently, and I will accommodate if able.

These are glass and are well packaged, but please check the bottle(s) for any issues as soon as you receive it, as claims to damage further down the line may not be able to be rectified.

Please note shipping costs also cover the packaging materials and not just the cost of postage. 

For international shipments, you may be charged additional fees, such as import fees, taxes, and duties.  This issue is fully regulated by the authorities of your country. All additional costs related to delivery are paid by the buyer.
